Rasch baronets
The Rasch Baronetcy, of Woodhill in Danbury in the County of Essex, is a title in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 29 August 1903 for Carne Rasch, Conservative Member of Parliament for South East Essex and Chelmsford. He was succeeded by his eldest son, the second Baronet. He was a Colonel in the Army. On his death the title passed to his nephew, the third Baronet. He was the son of Brigadier Guy Elland Carne Rasch, younger son of the first Baronet. As of 2007 the title is held by the third Baronet's son, the fourth Baronet, who succeeded in 1996.
The Rasch family originates from Germany (Hamburg area). In the mid 17th century Berndt Rasch moved from Hamburg to Amsterdam. In The Netherlands a Rasch family still exists, although not belonging to the Netherlands aristocracy but patricians. Berndt's brother, Robert Rasch moved to England.
